Car Review: Honda Accord Hybrid
A certain sister-in-law of mine recently came into ownership of a new Honda Accord Hybrid. What a sweet ride! She was nice enough to let me take it for a spin. For those that don’t know, it’s got Hybrid-TreeHugger Technology built in. Honda doesn’t use the phrase TreeHugger specifically, but you know that’s what they’re thinking.
They actually call it Integrated Motor Assist, and I wish I had some of that integratedness in my own car. What it does is take some of the energy from when you use the brakes…
… and uses that juice to add power to the already pretty-slick v6. So just when you think your fresh out of power, the electric motor kicks in and off you go.
It’s almost like a turbo-charger, but with no lag.The ride was super smooth. Like a smoothie, but smoother. I did get on the highway, and it gets up and goes very quickly. It comes with XM Radio, and new car smell. Heated seats are nice too.I’d say, if you’re itchin to get 37mpg and get there as fast as possible, the Accord Hybrid may be for you. Thanks to Chris for being brave enough to let me drive her car. Congrats.

Hey Pat! Thanks for posting a photo of Christine’s car! I was dying to see it. :) From what you and Chris have said I am being tempted to trade in the Miata …. hmmmm…. well maybe not. ;)

Thanks for letting everyone know about the details of my new car. I love it! So far the MPG isn’t what it claimed to be. But we’ll see next week when I’m back to work.
