The Final 36 Hours

It’s midnight, we’ve been cleaning, packing, sorting, deciding, leaving, keeping and thinking since early this morning. This after doing almost the same thing yesterday, stopping only to have a going-away party at Bob and Scott’s place last night.

That was a great time, nice to see our friends. Scott decorated a cake for us, using his Level 60 cakecrafting skills.

Cake!

We’re just about ready to go, our plan being to leave early Tuesday morning. Our cars are packed stuffed from floor to ceiling, and the little 4 cylinder engines will no doubt struggle to move the weight of our stuff and our cats.

It’s strange to think that in less than 36 hours, we’ll have turned in our keys at Rockland-Ave, and be traveling south. Our apartment is so empty now! And huge, without furniture and the possessions that take up space. It’s quiet, too – AC’s are off, computers are packed away. It feels much like it did 5 years ago, when we first moved in.

Kate and I both want to thank our family and friends for all their support, planning, scheming, heavy lifting and assistance with us on this. We’d not be able to do this without them. Wish us luck. Posting may be light as we make our way this week, but we’ll hopefully have internet access as soon as we move in to report back on just what’s up.

Off we go!
