The End of the Year

Saturday my Mom and Bill came and helped us hang up all our pictures and a few cabinets, install our new thermostat and shower head. It was great to get so much done, though I did feel guilty for putting them right to work after so much traveling.

I have been pretty busy with the sewing this month. Here is a photo of the Pointy Kitty that I made for my Mom.
And here are the Cat Pins. The two I just made for Chris have red scarves.

Last night for New Year’s we went over to Kat and Matt’s place. We had Mongolian Hot Pot, which was very, very tasty. Pat got to play with their Wii and I got to play with Kiba, their new kitten. We also watched the Acorn drop. Much fun.

We haven’t made any New Year’s Resolutions yet, though we probably should. There has been a lot of ice cream and cookie eating around here and not much exercising… I generally don’t like the idea of New Year’s Resolutions, so maybe I will just try to eat a little healthier and spend some more time exploring our neighborhood on foot and not actually tie it to a resolution….

Happy New Years! Way to hold that tape measure Pat!! I love how Moses’(? – or is that Zoe?) paw is sneaking into the picture, like he’s trying to steal one… New Years resolutions are a pain in the caboose! Especially when everyone promises to get in shape then MOB the gym for the first three weeks of January. Thank goodness for our warm weather, we can still walk around outside instead of trying to stare someone off of a treadmill! Miss you both!

That was the extent of my contribution – mostly observing and occasionally holding tools and tape measures… but it was all good, learning about the whole hanging-stuff-on-walls thing. I also feel as though I could install a shower head now without igniting a fire.

But if you just turn on the shower you could put out the fire…looks like Bill measures twice and then some. Lucky Cass and Bill to get a chance to squeeze you two. So was the mongolian hot pot like 70′s fondue? Where are the pics of the descending acorn? I hear that fireworks are the way to celebrate in NC.

We enjoyed our trip to visit Kate and Patrick very much. Hanging pictures and installing stuff was a welcome activity after hours and hours and hours in the car! LOL Plus it felt very good to be able to help them a bit with their new home ownership. It was great to see a smidge of their new neighborhood ( and I do mean NEW! lots of houses in the process, fabulous!)My only regret was that the trip was too short! :(
Kate and Pat, thanks for having us. We enjoyed our visit.
    Love you both. Mom
