Happiness

Hello blogosphere. I haven’t been posting much lately because honestly I haven’t been happy much lately. Of course I am happy when I am gardening, spending time with Pat, hanging with my kitties, or spending time with friends or family, but that was all being overshadowed by where it felt like I was spending all my time. And that place, well, I don’t like to be negative here, so let me share one of many stories.

The store manager gave his two weeks notice and when an employee made a sheet cake and brought it in for a going away party, he decided not to cut the cake and share it but to instead take the whole sheet cake home and eat it there by himself. I have been to some awkward “going away” parties before, but I was never denied cake… and so there it is. That pretty much sums up the morale. It is just not the company for me.

So I will be back to hunting for a job and happily working on stuff for my etsy store.

In other news, my once future niece Emma Katherine is actually my future nephew Jack Barrett according to the most recent sonogram. Hee hee.

No cake for YOU! yikes, that guy needs to come back to preK to learn to share. Or maybe he figured there’d be no money coming in so he took it home to freeze and dole out for sustenance… sigh.
You will find a happy place to work, like at your craft table. Or at that great Plant Nursery store by the outlets!
Nephews are fun, too. Jack Barret sounds like a movie star already.

I’m sorry the job didn’t turn out to be all it could have! Good for you to look for something that makes you happy.

Jack Barrett does sound like a movie star! I’m a big fan names that children can pronounce!

Good luck in your job hunt!

Good for you Kate! Take it from me, working in a crappy environment is not worth it. You end up spending far to much time at work for it to be OK to put up with an unfriendly situation. I say, let them eat cake!

in the “arts and crafts” world, today the mother of one of my students who has autism reported that he came home and told her that he loved “arts and craps”. hmm, maybe he knew your former employer?? hee hee
