I failed at dinner.

Pat was teasing me that I would starve while he was up north because I tend to let him be in charge of dinner. Not that I don’t do my share of cooking, but frequently if I am hungry I become unable to make a decision and unable to actually follow through. Leading to a vicious cycle where I become more hungry and further away from food. With Pat around that rarely happens. He’s good like that.

So on my way home from the airport I decided to stop at McDonald’s because I was already starving. I really wanted Chick Fil A, but they are closed on Sundays. I ordered my burger, fries, and soda. Took it and left, eating my fries on the way.

I got home and let the kitties out of their room and sat down to eat.

They gave me a filet -o- fish.

I was pretty horrified. I have been known to eat a fish stick or two in my life, but never, ever a fish sandwich and especially not from a fast food place. I decided to take a bite. So bad. I failed at dinner. Why did I not check my bag before leaving? Why? And of all the wrong things they could have given me, why the fish? I would have eaten almost anything else.

Well at least I got my fries and that is what I really wanted anyway. Guess I should try to find some protein. There is protein in chocolate ice cream right?

you had filet’ o’ chick in mind, maybe they tele(pathetic)ally went to filet o’ fishstick? We are anxiously awaiting Patrick’s arrival and promise to take good care of him while he’s away from you. Call Kathy Schimm if you need company or a coffee date!

I don’t think you can ever consider it a failure if you get to have chocolate ice cream. :)

Good luck with the Foodery…I had a similar problem when Tracy was in Anaheim 2 weeks ago, no ability to rationally think of food for myself. Thankfully we had leftoovers in the fridge. We promise to take “good care” of Mr.D whilst he’s in New England. Oh and sometime around fallish we want to come visit, possible us and Bob and Jenny so a full fledged yankee weekend.
