Pat&Kate Version 2.0

Well being the 500th post I guess it is time to break some big news on the blogosphere!

Pat and I are going to have a baby!

I am eleven weeks along, almost out of the sleepy nauseous first trimester. You may have noticed that Pat’s been doing all the blogging lately. That is because I have been sleeping in all my free time. I take a nap in the afternoon and then go to bed at 9 o’clock. Its insane. But at least when I am sleeping I am not nauseous, because if I am awake I pretty much feel like I could puke. Its fun.

Pat has been amazing. Making food magically appear, doing the dishes, listening to me complain. I am very lucky to have him.

The cats seem more clingy lately. Its almost like they know I am pregnant and they are trying to get on my good side now. Zoe is always climbing into my lap and every time I get up Moses follows me around meowing. Maybe they think I am dying. Poor kitties.

Yea Baby! I’m sure the cats just know that their time as kings of the roost is coming to an end, and they are trying to remind you that they love you. Josh and I are super excited for you. I’m still trying to convince him that we need to buy that house for sale across from you. Then you’ll have a babysitter right across the street!

    Love and miss you!

No wonder the site took so long to load.

Big news always generates big hits…was this slashdot’d or something?

we are so glad that your 500th posting was to announce your great news. We are so excited for you (and the cats). Very glad that you are almost thru the tired icky belly phase. Although, the tired thing will be ongoing for about 18 more years! hehehe

Do the cats lose their room now?

love momD xxoo…soon to be (granniegrace??)

  4. MattM says:

Congrats to both of you, very exciting news. Sounds like the cats are indeed about to be evicted from their room as plans for a nursery are surely under way.

If you guys need handyman/woman help in preparation don’t be afraid to let us know. –matt/kat

Congratulations! How wonderful for all of us! Especially wonderful for you two.

    Fun times ahead!

    Love you! Mom B.

MattB – Not quite slashdotted, but our hosting company has trouble putting pages onto the internets. I use a WordPress plugin called WP-Cache that serves up static versions of the pages, so we should be moderately resistent to massive traffic.

Everyone Else – thanks for the well wishes :)

  8. Michelle says:

Congratulations! Does this mean Uncle Mike needs a side car for his Harley to tote around the grandkids? Love Pat’s cousin Michelle

  9. Patrick says:

Hi Michelle! I doubt my dad would ever get a sidecar, but I suspect some kind of Harley gear will wind up on our kids.

  10. Harleymaster says:

Your mother and I have already picked out a plethora of Harley stuff! Clothes, Harley Pampers (when the baby farts.. it makes a potato.. potato sound) and the best will be the Harley Bar and Shield wallpaper for the kids room. Can’t wait!

  11. Megan says:

Congratulations! Rose told me. I hope you’ll be feeling better soon. As for the cats, well, things change.

  12. Katherine says:

Thanks for all the well wishes!

  13. James Whelan says:

    Pat and Kate,

And so the fun begins… this great news, I am quite sure that your parents are wondering why you had move for this event, but they will understand in time. Adam and Kyle will be excited to meet their new cousin when its time to introduce the little one to Mickey Mouse (you have to, its a law).

Best wishes for a safe and restful(?) 20 something weeks.

    James and Lena

  14. Uncle John (stb great...) says:

Congrats to both of you! Keep it simple Kate, eat, sleep, rest, sleep some more and laugh as much as you can. Play some Beethoven too, you won’t regret it! Keep up the great support Pat, you’re doing just fine.
