This. Is. Awesome: The Apartment in the Mall.
(From here. Also, Boston.com followup.)
Insane! Local New England artists actually lived inside an abandoned space in the mall, without the hobo-encampment style barrel-fires. They had electricity and Playstations and fine art on the walls. People lived in this space for weeks on end, only leaving to use the mall bathrooms. This went on for years before someone got caught by mall security. (Security?)
This mall is the Pottery Barn carpeted-floor mall of upper-middle-class people, with fancy-hat-wearing security guards. I wonder if something like this could have gone down at the Lincoln Mall. I want a secret mall hideout even more then I want to wear Heely‘s at work.
To celebrate this Bauhaus of New England-based malls, maybe Kate and I will head up north this weekend.
Hmm, a trip up north sounds good. Maybe someone will get married and someone else will have a baby.
Baby and wedding and visit from Pat and Kate
Sounds like a perfect week end to me!
I saw the piece in the paper about these unusual “mall rats”. I clipped it out for Kim & Anne to read in the hospital. :)
Crazy.
Bill said it was national news. Now I see that it was!
and somebody DID get married and somebody else DID have a baby. What a perfect weekend, and boy are we all pooped out. zzzz
Thanks to all who shared the celebrations
