Maintaining a Beard in the Modern Age

For my birthday, Kate got me a new beard trimmer. The beardless out there know not of the strife, nay turmoil that is beard maintenance, but those of you who sport the chin spinach know just what I’m talking about. Keeping the facial hair at a consistent length is a challenge to say the least.

My old trimmer worked well for a time but it’s battery had started to not hold a charge, and worse it decided it hated my face. It would grab hairs to trim them, and then not let go afterwards, leading to pain. Still worse, it would throw the trimmed hairs all over the bathroom sink, branding me a slob in my own house.

This situation discouraged me from wanting to trim the beard, leading to shaggy unkempt beardface, which only increased the pain and the post-trim-mess when I did trim… thereby creating a sort of a vicious cycle all in the name keeping my face warm.

trimmer!

Kate saw threw my pain and found the source of the problem – bad beard trimmer. So on my birthday I unwrapped a new trimmer that has cured my beard ills. It has a built in vacuum and storage chamber that keeps the trimmed beard hairs from flying everywhere. Also, because it’s not four years old, it’s blades are sharp (and self-sharpening!) and do not cling to my skin.

Beard trimming is (sort of) a joy again! Instead of spending an hour every other weekend trimming some sort of hippy-esque hobo beard, I’m able to maintain a fairly constant length and trimming only takes a few minutes.

Thanks Kate!

Yea, Kate, way to take care of my boy!
Being married to a man whose chin I haven’t seen in over 30 years, qualifies me to say that trimming the hedges appears to be a trial.
Harley master has modified the design so his baby soft cheeks see the light.
A well trimmed beard is a sign of refinement and dignity.
