Twenty-sixth and Twenty-seventh Weekiversaries

Last week Ted, Pat, and I headed up to RI for my grandmother’s 90th birthday party and my nephew, Jack’s first birthday party.  This was another one of those trips where we all drove up together and then Pat flew back to NC to commute to work for the week and then flew back to meet up with us in time for Jack’s party and the drive home.

Ted and I had an action-packed week.  He got to spend some quality time with all of his grandparents. We started the trip off right with a huge party for Ted’s Great Grammie.  Ted was in a wonderful mood, giving out smiles to anyone who would glance at him.  In fact, he was very social the whole trip, just happy to see everybody.  Which was awesome and a bit unexpected, since he just got through a phase of crying at every new face.

Each day we were booked solid with family to visit, but Ted and I did make time to meet up with a friend of mine from high school.  This friend was actually the person who first introduced Pat and I.  And I never would have worked at Victory in the first place if she hadn’t convinced me.  We had some pizza and I got to meet her new husband and they got to meet Ted.

On Saturday we went to our second big party of the trip at my sister Kim’s house.

Jack turned one!!!  Hard to believe a year has gone by already.  Jack is walking pretty well by now and it is just crazy to see what we are in store for with Ted.  There were three cakes (my family doesn’t mess around when it comes to dessert.)  One chocolate, one angel food with chocolate frosting, and one dairy-free carrot cake with white icing.  Jack had the carrot cake and seemed to really enjoy it.  Pat’s family came too, so Ted got spend some time with Auntie Kristen and Uncle Josh.

Then we got back in the car and headed home.  Ted was really good in the car both ways.  He was very well behaved and in great spirits the whole week, which was remarkable because he was teething.  His second tooth showed up while we were up there.  Ted didn’t let it bother him though.  He was happy and laughing, just so excited to see his family.

I should also note that Ted had his first sip of water from a sippy cup with assistance from his Grammie.

yes, Grammie Cass, it is always fun to have them all visit.
Great photos Kate, thanks again for sharing with us all.
    Be well, all~y’all.

  3. Patrick says:

I think Ted should wear a party hat every day.

… On second thought that might result in Kate or I losing an eye in pretty short order.
