Ted is Twelve Months Old
..And coincidentally one year old at the same time. It’s pretty odd to call him a ‘1-year-old’ now… feels like he was only recently a few days old. He has come a long way since then.
So we had a pretty huge party for him to celebrate his one-year-oldness. People from near and far came to eat some cake and hang out, and it was a great time. We’ll post photos of it soon.
And there are more photos. Always more photos. Hundreds from this weekend alone with us and four aunts snapping away without the expense of film or flashcube. A constant throughout Ted’s first year on earth has been a pretty thorough photographic history. I wonder what it will be like for him to look back and see in such detail about what his early months were like.
Ted sticks his tongue out a lot (like in the photo below). I suspect its because he didn’t have teeth there for a long time, but now has six to call his own. We brush his teeth most every night.
Ted is already as computer literate as a one-year-old can be. He knows that when his mom and I aren’t watching him, we’re doing something on a computer. He’s curious and fearless about the whole thing. In the photo below, Ted is running backup scripts on the AfterVictory.com mainframe, and running reports on our website traffic. We figure the earlier we put him to work, the better.
But its not all technology with Ted. His fancy new red wagon he got for his birthday (thanks northerners!) thankfully does not have high-speed internet access built in, and he also is more into books. In this rare moment below, Ted actually sat on my lap for the span of nearly an entire book.
Kate and I realize we are crazy-lucky with Ted. He’s just awesome.
Happy birthday, Ted!
p.s. – there’s a sleeping aunt in one of these pics, see if you can find her.

Great photos! Looking forward to more… Can’t figure out who’s passed out on the floor in the 1st photo, but must’ve been some party! And that book – The Pigeon Has Feelings Too? – wait til he visits the city and see if he still loves it!

It was a great celebration, we are very impressed with how much Ted has grown and how smart he is!! I can tell you who is sleeping in the background, but that would be cheating since I took the picture :-) Ted seemed to like things on his head, so I continued with a stacking ring and caught Auntie sound asleep! The pigeon books are fantastic Dede, you should totally pick them up!! Its just as good for adults as for kids. Can’t wait to see you again!
P.S. The tongue out is normal, when he does so much motor planning, its pretty common to have it hanging out.

Ted is the stacking king!
Great post. It took me a while to find the sleeping aunt as Ted steals the show in all the photos. :)

Happy B-Day, Ted. Man, time flies. The little man is walking with purpose.
