Ted is Thirteen Months Old
… give or take a week or so. I’m a little behind on this monthly report here. Ted did an awful lot of growing in April. Taller, stronger, and much more mobile. Walking went from something he could do (instead of crawling) to his primary method of transportation.
Except of course for piggy-back rides, which are much more fun than walking. Whenever I turn my back, he’s there trying to climb on. Since me shouting “hold on tight” doesn’t really do much for him, I have to constantly lean forward. All worth it for the smiles, though.
He gets into everything that isn’t nailed down. It’s fun for us to see his curiosity, and lots of work to keep him from trying to piggyback-ride a cat.
We went up to New England for Grammie Cass‘ birthday party. Ted handled the plane ride very well, although you could tell he wanted to run around the cabin instead of staying on our laps. He also celebrated his first Easter, too!
Ted’s food tastes continue to expand. He eats pizza, green beans, grilled chicken, broccoli, ham and occasionally a little peanut butter. He had a little chocolate cake too! And he had his first burrito! He ate a little chicken burrito from Moe’s, and drank out of a straw for the first time. He drinks out of a straw all the time now. Lots of whole milk and water.
His communication skills are improving, too. Asking him what a sheep says, and he’ll say “Bah.” Pretty amazing.
