The light that comes in from our back windows in the late morning is great, and Ted takes full advantage of it.

Spree

Posted by Katherine on May 28th, 2008

For my birthday I was given a few credit card gift cards.  Normally I would use gift cards like these on practical stuff for the house or baby stuff.  This time with Pat’s encouragement I went to my Etsy Favorites page and had myself a little shopping spree.  It was so much fun it was hard to stop.  Here are some of my purchases.

Little Sparrows

I bought this print from The Yumi  Yumi Shop.  She has lots of prints of flowers and birds that are “giclee prints of original illustrations using pen and ink, watercolor and a little digital tweaking.”  She also has some very cool modern illustrations of owls in trees that I really like and lots of other illustrations too.

These two prints are from Ola Design.  I absolutely love the colors and the style.  She also has lots of flowers and bird illustrations in her shop, but I particularly like her underwater scenes and really all of her art that uses the blue green color combination.

Peculiar Neighbors

This print is from A.T. Whim.  Pat and I both liked the comical nature of this print.  She has lots of different interesting illustrations in her shop.

Hats

And then this one came from Paula Birdy.  I love these bluebirds.  They have such personality, they remind me of someone I know.  She has lots of bird prints and a bird print alphabet in her shop.  What can I say I like birds…

Getting the mail is going to be so exciting for the next couple of weeks while these prints come in and a few other little things I ordered from Etsy.

Art and Assembly

Posted by Patrick on December 2nd, 2007

Yesterday we ventured to the North Carolina Museum of Art to check out Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism, of which I received some free passes to from my work. (The museum itself is free, though, which is good to know in the future).

The exhibit was pretty cool, featuring impressionist landscapes painted by European and American artists. It’d been a long time since either of us visited a museum, so it was nice to get back.

Today we got productive and assembled the crib for Ted (Thanks!). It’s pretty crazy knowing that this kid is coming to stay at our house. And that’s where he’ll sleep.

Crib

The cats were intrigued, mostly by the cardboard boxes. They have no idea what to expect, but they know something is up.
