Halloween Night 2009
Posted by Katherine on November 1st, 2009At dusk we headed out and trick-or treated on our street. Ted was pretty good about actually saying trick-or-treat and thank you, all though he did say both very very quietly and not at all to the woman who opened the door when he had his back turned or the people with barking dogs. He was cute walking along carrying his pumpkin bucket, going house to house, like it was something he did all the time. We were just going to do the very close neighbors, but only one of them had their lights on, so we ended up doing our whole street and going to about six houses.
Then we came back home, turned on our lights, and sat outside to pass out candy. It was so warm that Ted had to keep his hood off most of the time and Pat and I were comfortable in t-shirts. Ted was funny about the candy. He was very intent on moving it from the bowl to his pumpkin bucket. He didn’t seem interested in eating any of it, till he found a small pack of m&ms and he looked at it real hard. I think he might just genetically know that m&ms are good. We decided to let him have that pack. After that we were talking about how much he ate for dinner and mentioned carrots and suddenly he was asking for carrots! So we got out the carrots and ate them while we passed out candy! He was excited about giving out the candy and put a piece into each person’s bag, unless they were dressed in a scary costume. He tried to hide behind us when the older kids in scary costumes would come. Overall I think he had a great time and I know that Pat and I did!
