Sarah’s Eighteenth and Nineteenth Weekiversary

During this time Sarah used the Exersaucer for the first time. I also set up the Jumperoo, but she is not really into jumping yet. We also have been sitting her in her high chair at the dinner table when we eat. I am pretty sure she is totally ready to start actually eating with us, but we are going to wait until six months to introduce food.

She has been practicing up with a probiotic though. I put the powder on a spoon and she eats it right up. Her digestive woes continue. After a very promising looking week, I tried adding wheat back in to my diet. It didn’t go well, so I cut it back out again. Of course I still don’t even really know if these diaper issues are allergy related or just coincidence. May 2nd I will be taking her to a pediatric gastroenterologist. Hopefully I will get some answers or at least some direction.

Also during this time we headed up to New England for Easter, Sarah’s 6am Baptism, and a birthday party for Ted. Sarah got to meet tons of her family for the first time.

On our trip up north last month we got to meet our newest niece (or cousin, if you’re Ted) named Abigail. Awesome new parents Kristen and Josh let us hang out and spend time getting to know her.

She’s damn adoreable.

Holiday 2010 Part 2: Boys are back in town

Well, technically Jack never really left town, but it makes me happy when these cousins get to hang out together. Their age difference (about six months) seems less intense the older they get.

For the 24 hours we were up north over Christmas (new job’s non-vacation+ blizzard madness) meant they didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time together, but they did get to open presents together on Christmas morning. (Never underestimate the power of winter weather to muck up your plans. We ended up leaving a night early and spending two nights in a hotel in Maryland.)

They’re both pretty different, but bond over the sort of things that toddlers bond over (toys, mutual family members, tasty Holiday treats).

Next Christmas will be an entirely different experience for them, both up north with Jack about to become an older brother and down south with my sister’s impending little one. Can’t wait!

First Campout

Ted got to go on his first overnight camp out while we were up north, with cousin Jack, Auntie Kim and Auntie Anne, Uncle Josh and Auntie Kristen, and Grammie, too. There was minimal sleeping in the toddler tent, but we had lots of fun.
