21st, 22nd, 23rd weekiversaries

At the end of April we took Ted and Sarah to the aquarium and beach. Sarah loved watching the fish and seemed to enjoy her first time out in the sand.

May 2nd was Sarah’s gastroenterologist appointment. The doctor recommended that I add back everything except dairy and soy back to my diet. She also had me collect some specimens to have tested and if they come back clear than she recommends an x-ray.

Last weekend we went to the strawberry farm and Ted and I filled a bucket while Pat and Sarah supervised.

Sarah had her first solid food on May 7th. Ted fed her her first bite of rice cereal.

Sarah is very mobile now. I remember Ted went through a phase where I could sit him down and he would stay right there and happily play with his toys because he was not yet crawling. We seem to have skipped that phase with Sarah. Any time I put her down on her back she flips right over and starts scootching away, backward. She can do a plank and is already pushing up on her knees.

Also, she got her second bottom tooth this week.

We had some really nice weather last month. Ted and I played a little baseball in the side yard.

Ted also is enjoying his new(to-him) play structure in our back yard. He really enjoys it, and enjoys convincing his parents to go down the slide.

First Campout

Ted got to go on his first overnight camp out while we were up north, with cousin Jack, Auntie Kim and Auntie Anne, Uncle Josh and Auntie Kristen, and Grammie, too. There was minimal sleeping in the toddler tent, but we had lots of fun.

Across The State

We had a visitor last week from Forks of Ivy. Aunt Deirdre drove near clear across the state to visit us, dodging treacherous rock slides along the way.

We went to downtown Raleigh, Trader Joe’s, and Hemlock Bluffs state park for a hike. She treated us to supper at The Remedy Diner in downtown Raleigh, which was very tasty. Lots of fun!

Museum of Life and Science

Visiting the cow, goats, donkey, turkey, and more at the farm yard.

Playing music at Loblolly Park.

They had all kinds of drums and bells for Ted to play.

My favorite part of the museum was the Magic Wings Butterfly House.

Ted enjoyed the Gentle Zone of the Play to Learn part of the museum. They had a section just for kids his age to run free and play with all kinds of age appropriate toys and a little house with stairs and a slide just his size. His favorite part was a ball track on the wall, where he was figuring out gravity.
